Undercliff VFC History Series - #1
As we continue through our 115th anniversary year celebration, we thought it would be fun to share some photos of the history of Undercliff VFC.
Today, we start with the fire station. From our roots at the old Braun Schoolhouse in 1909 to 1930 when we purchased our current location from the Braun Family, the fire house has always been a staple of the community. It has hosted many events and fundraisers through the year, from bingos, to dances, to elections, and more! We have always loved hosting the community in our building as a way to connect with those we serve. The current building has gone through many renovations and changes through the years with another renovation occurring this year. This all adds to the history of the station and Undercliff's drive to always innovate and move forward.
The fire house has always served as a "home away from home" for our members with their fellow members often becoming a second family. It's a place where values like friendship, family, hard work, excellence, dedication, and service shine every day. As the old saying goes, "If those walls could talk" we are sure they would have some great stories! The walls and building might have changed, but the mission has always remained the same, to provide our residents, businesses, and visitors with first class fire and rescue services. It's what we have been doing since 1909 and what we will continue to do well into the future.
Stay tuned for more posts about the history of Undercliff VFC as we continue to celebrate our 115th anniversary this year!
